Hello
I am looking to run a Ethernet cable from my existing R7000 AC1900 Nighthawk Wifi Router to my home office
[approx 20m ] using CAT6 cable for a Wifi Access Point for use inside the office [ 3 x 3 m ] . To be used with 3 devices , laptop , ipad and iphone. Use is basic computing , emails , web based applications / videos etc plus MS teams and Zoom meetings . Looking at the WAC104 AC1200 Dual Band Wireless Access Point.
Just wondering if the WAC104 is compatible with the AC1900 or if there in another suggestion .
I have tried range extenders with out much improvement as I think the router is too far away from the extender as there on opposite sides of the house
Cheers
Rob

You can go with an extender or even a router and run the router in AP mode.
I've used that route plenty and it gives you the option of a backup router in case you need it.
Or even upgrading your current router and turning the old one into an access point.
Several options going for you.

Re: WIFI Access Point
the wac104 isa solid option/choice.
the one thing i'll ask is what extenders did you try? Many have access point mode and can be hardwired in. (not all of them but many)
Might prevent you from needing to buy another device.

Re: WIFI Access Point
Thanks for the reply
Yeah only very basic used , D-Link DAP-1320 with no option to wire in
Was also thinking your option with the Netgear AC1750 WiFi Mesh Extender EX6250 which has the wire in option
Might have to try and see how it goes
