What Does Amber LED Light Mean? I Have The Netgear Nighthawk AC 1900 R7000 Smart WiFi Router.

Hi hope someone can clarify here is my isuse . my issue i have laptop computer and i use an xbox 360 for gaming and also an xbox one for gaming so i picked up the NightHawk 1900 R7000 smart wifi router today  to suit my needs because i did some reasearch and many have said this is the best router for my this stuff ,and that it would suit my needs . here is where im confused i set everything up ,expected all the led lights to show up as white except they did not, my xbox 360 and my laptop did not show up as white led lights like my xbox one did .so heres what i did i took the same ethernet cable i used for the xbox one since it shows as white light just fine and used it for my laptop and my xbox 360 too see if the ethernet cables i were using for the xbox 360 and my laptop were the culprit for the xbox 360 and laptop showing as amber i figured maybe my other ethernet cables have gone bad ,that was not the case i used the same cable i used for the xbox one and hooked it up too the latptop and my xbox 360 but they both still showed as amber/orange led only the xbox one shows as white light

please am i missing something here? its gonna drive me crazy that all the lights are white except 2 :/ can anyone shed some light on what the hay is going on here? D:

  • I maybe wrong but i think it reflects the transfer rate on the connected port, so white is gigabit which xbox one is, as is ps4, so led shows white. Anything below gigabit, led shows orange, i dont think the 360 is gigabit.

so what ur saying is the xbox 360 and my laptop are just too old too have gigabyte ports?   and thats why there amber led and the xbox one is white led cuz its more advanced?

  • Xbox 360 = less than gigabit = orange led on router.
I guess the same goes for your lap top.
