Which Wi-Fi plug-in extender is compatible with a Nighthawk AC2400 smart router?

Any from NETGEAR and probably other brands. Those from TP-Link work well with NG hardware as well

What do you mean by "plug-in extender"? If you want something that you wire to your router, rather than connect with wifi, then look for an extender that supports wireless access point (AP) mode.
Most do, but it might be harder with some of the "wall wart" things that plug into the mains circuit.
