extending wifi into my garage
I have an rp7900 nighthawk router for my house. My garage is a steel building that blocks all signals. It is over 100 feet from the house, but I do have 200 feet of CAT6 ethernet cable I can run to the garage easily. What do I need on the garage end to get internet to my garage? Speak slowly and clearly as I am not up on all the technical terms, so please keep it simple!
Thanks so much!

Re: extending wifi into my garage
Another router that supports AP mode or a Wifi Extender that supports AP mode that has a ethernet connection:
EX 7700/8000 or EAX series extenders with the Ethernet port will support AP mode:

Re: extending wifi into my garage
Hello, I forgot to mention that I am using a CM700 cable modem into the RP7900. I do not know what an AP system is? I folllowed the link in your answer and it appears I can enter AP mode in settings of the router and then use the same setup in another router in the garage? My concern is that in step 6 my router loses connection with my computer? That is not what I want, I want my computer, currently hardwired into the router to maintain service, just add my garage.
Thanks again

Yes when your setting up the 2ndary AP in the garage, it will temporarily loose connect as the 2nd router has to reboot to configure the new AP configuration. The loss is only for about 1 minute or less. This is normal event when this happens.

Re: extending wifi into my garage
Apparently I need to have the secondary router set up prior to changing the settings on my RP7900 to AP? Because I don't have it set up, and i have lost almost all connectivity as a result, WIFI and ETHERNET do not have a valid IP configuration. How do I change back from AP? What setting do I choose? Also, when the router rebooted, it said that "routerlogin/net could not be found?
I am sorely exasperated as this seemed simple, but I am now without any WIFI, cannot call out, cannot use my ROKU, not even sure how this internet connection happened because it did not happen for 30 minutes and then suddenly appeared. All the right LEDs are lit, and I really need to get my internet back, please

Re: extending wifi into my garage
Your primary router should already be setup.
It should have a small IP address pool size (192.168.1.100 to .200) do when you set the 2ndary R7900P configured for AP mode you can set a static IP address of say, 192.168.1.79 on the 2ndary AP mode router.
