D7800 won't connect at 1733 mbps on 5GHZ
I have a D7800 and a Gigabyte GC-WB1733D-I PCIE addon card. Both support 1733 mbps wireless connection on the 5GHZ band, but the maximum connection speed that i can acheive is 866.7 mbps.
On the router, I have tried all the channels available on 5ghz and even chenged the country in order to have access to more channels. None of these things makes any difference.
In Advancd Settings, Wireless Settings I have checked that 'Enable Implicit BEAMFORMING - Boosts WiFi speed, reliability, & range for all mobile devices' is enabled.
On the addon card I have updated to the latest driver and gone through all the settings on the Advanced tab in the driver dialogue in Device Manager.
I did come across a post relating to the R7800 (same router without the built in modem) which mentioned a setting to enable 160mhz band, but this setting dosn't appear on the D7800.
I am using Firmware Version V1.0.1.58. and a PC running Windows 10.
Any help would be gratefully received.
Thanks,
Laddie
Your GC-WB1733D-I supports 1733mbps when running in 160hz mode. And its only a 2x2 antenna setup.
The D7800 supports 1733mbps when running 80hz channel bandwidth AND using a 4x4 antenna setup.
So since you only have a 2x2 wireless chip, your max connection is the 866mbps link speed. (link speed isn't the same and throughput).

I understand, that makes sense. Many thanks. I can stop chasing my tail on this now
