Debrick unresponsive R7000 after flashing DD-WRT
I am a newbie. After flashing DD-WRT, I tried to restore factory firmware. I used the dd-wrt upgrade function to flash .chk file downloaded from official page. It was successfully installed. But after rebooting, I am unable to access to router interface from 192.168.1.1 anymore. I tried many other ips. Then I followed instructions of http://kb.netgear.com/22688/How-to-upload-firmware-to-a-NETGEAR-router-using-TFTP?cid=wmt_netgear_organic to restore firmware through TFTP. I can ping 192.168.1.1 by ethernet, but when uploading .chk file, TFTP client cannot get response from server. Any idea how to solve the problem? Thanks in advance.
Have you RESET the router AFTER flashing the NG f/w? Hold in the hidden RESET button for at least 30 seconds. See if that helps.
If you can PING 192.168.1.1 I'd think it isn't bricked? Does 192.168.1.1 show as the GATEWAY IP Address when you issue IPCONFIG /ALL in a CMD prompt?
Possibly 2 better places to ask about this would be:
