R6020 Ethernet issues
Please don't respond like I'm a elderly stupid person. I AM tech savy to a point. THIS IS NOT A WIFI ISSUE. THIS IS A WIRED ISSUE.
So I'm having an PC ethernet problem that just started 2 weeks ago. I don't believe that windows 10 done a major update.
This unit is only a little over 4 months since purchased NEW.
Info: HP Pavilion, Processor AMD Ryzen 7 1700 Eight-Core Processor 3.00 GHz, Installed RAM 16.0 GB, System type Windows 10 Home 64-bit 21H2 Build:19044.1415. Frontier Cable Internet with Arris cable modem. Note: Wifi router is NOT supplied by Frontier.
Problem: Windows 10 (including Microsoft store) keeps saying I have NO network connected but everything else works fine. IE; Internet, ethernet printer, ethernet camera system, wi-fi.
Let me give you what I HAVE done, BEFORE you tell me to do it.
I have recently checked for new firmware updates for unit. I have done a factory reset on PC. I have changed out ethernet cords that I KNOW are good. I've rearranged ethernet cords to different ports on router. I, of course, ran Windows 10 network diagnostics and it just wants to keep resetting network. I have used a spare networking card and still same issue.
The only way my pc will say it's connected is one of two ways. If I do a factory reset on Netgear router, the pc will show it's now connected to network FOR 2 or 3 DAYS and then it goes BACK to same "NO NETWORK" ISSUE.
OR
If I skip the Netgear wifi router all together and just plug ethernet directly from cable modem and then there's NO issue EVER.
AND no, this router/cable modem combo does NOT need bridged. Like I said before, this just started happening
P.S. I will say Netgear corporation sucks to only give 90 days warranty on a NEW device! Who does that?
AND AGAIN: WIRED ISSUE, NOT WIFI ISSUE!

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?If you have a modem/built in router then this may need to be bridged or at least use it's DMZ for the R series router to be sure the NG router is getting full on internet services.
Was the PC working with the router before Windows updated?
No need to yell, we can hear you.
Netgear has set up a community forum specifically for General Router products. Might be more likely to find someone who has a solution if the question is posted there:

Please use this link to the main forum product list to review and choose where to make your posts.

Firmware version: V1.0.0.52
As I said in my post, there was NO windows 10 update as I looked through the update history and showed no updates after the issue.
This not being an issue with the modem, I don't see why the model info would be necessary. I have not had any problems before this issue. The only change was McAfee Virus software was uninstalled from system but again, after said fact, I reinstalled windows so that wouldn't matter either.
Regardless, the modem is an Arris TM1602 and in 2 years has never been bridged nor needed to.
Sorry about the CAPS in original post. I've seen where other forum helpers just glance over issue and then immediately respond with somewhat of a "read the standard responses" sheet similar to, is the unit on? I would like to have a little more respect than that.
And answer me this, why, after a factory reset of Netgear router, W10 recognizes the network connection BUT only for a few days then reverts back.
Thx for your reply.

Seesm like if its working for a few days then stop working, maybe a Windows 10 or ethernet adapter issue. Seen odd things with Windows and not the first time with ethernet adapters. Be sure the ethernet adapter driver is updated. Disable any Windows Power Management features under the adapter advanced settings.
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the PC and the router. CAT6 is recommended.
Try a different ethernet adapter to see if problem solves or continues.
Does a different wired PC do same thing?
