I upgraded my MacBook today to 15.0.1 - and when it attempted to connect to the network after the upgrade, it was blocked which is really odd. So I do have the router set to block any NEW access requests - but the MacBook already has access (or so I thought) -- so not sure what happened. But either Netgear or Apple have some technical issues. Additionally - I also cannot log into the 10.0.0.1 admin console -- each time I do ... I get a prompt to reset the router by first entering the serial number and then resetting the admin passwords and security questions. I have done this 6 times in the last two hours to try to get my network functional again. SO -- SOMEONE IN NETGEAR SHOULD LOOK AT THIS AS THERE ARE GOING TO BE MAC SITES BLOWING UP EVERYWHERE BASED ON APPLE ROGUE UPDATE.

You updated your Mac and you think Netgear has caused this? Do you have any evidence that the router caused it?
Which router are we talking about? AX1800 is not a unique Netgear model number. Many devices come with the AC/AX tag, but it is essentially a label that Netgear, and others, attach to hardware to describe wifi speeds.
Look at the label on the device for the Model Number. And, if there is one, include the "V" bit to show the hardware version. If there is no V number, then you have V1.

That hints at another issue. By default your Netgear router will squat on 192.168.1.1 as the local IP address.
It goes for 10.0.0.1 if it spots another router between t and the Internet.
So what is the modem/gateway/ONT that connects you to the Internet?

If it was a router thing I'd expect to see a torrent of messages here. So far you seem to be the only victim.
Wow - you must be having a real crappy day …. So thanks - some good bits here amongst the angst So I am not saying this is a Netgear issue - on the contrary / I raised the point it is an Apple issue … but whatever Hope today goes better for you …..
Argh … so I sent it to the Netgear community to see if anyone else had run into it …. The Mac updates just canned out yesterday …. So James gave me some suggestions … As per other questions - I am on the latest firmware And I do not think it is an issue what Netgear as I pointed out earlier
It is an unreliable test if you used the Nighthawk app or a web browser and the graphical user interface (GUI).
They can miss updates, especially when you are a long way behind the latest.
The best way to check is to look at the GUI or the Router Information page in the Nighthawk App and check the firmware version reported there. Then visit the support pages for your device and to look at the library of available updates. There may be a newer version there.
From the messages here there is no sign of "MAC SITES BLOWING UP EVERYWHERE". So far, you seem to be the only victim. Maybe a few more people need to apply the "rogue update".
