RAX10 stream from a KODI tv

I can not get this new router to stream from my computer thru the router to my KODI box. I use this stream my music collection mostly.

My DLINK 1750 did this with no issues just plug and play.

The kodi setup just asks for the share name of the computer using SMB share but with the rax10 it reports errors all day long.

I tried other options available thru KODI but none of these were any better.

any success out there streaming to a kodi from the computer.

thanks

Ok, problem solved. What are the odds that I took a windows update while I was installing the new router.

Turns out MS turned off file and printer sharing and discovery during a missed update.

Which device do you own? The subject says RAX10 but you have tagged the R6700AX. Which is it? Or are you using both?

What tells you that it is a router issue rather than this "KODI box"?

What is that? (I'm afraid that Netgear followers can possibly know the innermost workings of ever device that networks can support.) How does it work? Shares? DLNA server? Something else?

Search - NETGEAR Communities – KODI

Where do you see the errors? On a PC?

SMB isn't something that is down to the router. I had to adjust the settings in Windows to get ReadySHARE devices to work on my network.

Re: RAX10 stream from a KODI tv

Sorry I was not concise the router is ax1800 RAX10 brand new. The other router was an autofill.

I was not blaming the router but my dlink did do KODI streaning out of the box but it is getting unreliable.

I am sharing from a windows 10 computer with the music on a folder mymusic. The computer name is damor with KODI I used the SMB sharing to share this folder from the computer to my media player then to the receiver.

the SMB is not working on the netgear router, so I need a new way to connect.

My question is which one. This router does not have USB or ready share, at least I can not find it.

A few other network options on KODI

NFS(s)

UPNP

FTP(s)

web server directory HTTP(s)

The error is on KODI as I try to add my music(damor) connection not allowed.

I have edited the server network connection and change the SMB settings but no connection from media player to damor(my file server)

one of the solutions I found was USB readyshare but the option is not available on this router?

Thanks just let me know if you need more back ground.

Good to know that it was nothing to do with the router.
