RAX200 Getting slow speeds with BT FTTP 900

Hi have BT Full Fibre 900 FTTP and recently purchased a Netgear Nighthawk RAX200. When I set it up directly connected to the BT openreach modem in router mode it gets between 430 and 550Mbps on its internal Speedtest via the App.

When I use it in AP mode connected to the LAN port of the home hub 2 I can get up to 828Mbps.

Obviously using it in this way stops me using some of the features. I have raised a case with Netgear Pro support who to said speak to BT and ask them to boost the signal. I spoke to BT and they said they have no idea what they meant by that and there is nothing that needs doing on their end

The internal Speedtest app is not very reliable or accurate. Try a different speed test like https://openspeedtest.com/ or Ookla

The average increased speed by around 200Mbps when set up in AP mode vs using as a router is consistent across all the various speed test tools for both wired and wireless clients.

Re: RAX200 Getting slow speeds with BT FTTP 900

@MrRouterMan Did you get anywhere with this?

I have the same problem when speed testing my new RAX200 on BT FTTP 900, couldn't get more than 480mbps down, it's always been a rock solid 930 on my Smart Hub, and even on a RAX120 I'd tried for a few days previously before having to send it back because of the random reboots.

Weirdly i've plugged my BT Smart Hub 2 back in and have the SAME issue now, it can't download faster than 480mbps.

Either the RAX200 triggered a fault or something else strange is going on.

I'd like to know if you ever found a solution though?
