RAX80 slow ping, dropping packets, poor performance...
I've been having a lot of issues streaming lately and finally got around to looking at my router... Firmware: V1.0.10.140_1.0.79 Why would my ping times be so radically different like this? ...

1. what firmware is on the router?
2. what modem/gateway is it connected to?
3. What are you streaming on?
4. is it just one streaming device with the issue?
5. are you streaming over 2.4ghz? 5ghz? wired? Details are key
6. do you notice it with live streaming? Movie streaming?
7. is it just one app? or all of them?
8. how big is your home? And what materials is it made of.
Details are key. the more you tell us, the better we can help. To say you have low streaming and high ping, doesn't tell us much.

1. V1.0.10.140_1.0.79
2. It is connected to a Spectrum Internet Cable Modem
3. Streaming on anything,
4. all devices on the network seem to have issues.
5. I have both 2.4 and 5GHz enabled and on "automatic"
6. Live, movie, browsing the web, etc...
7. All of them
8. 2200 Square Feet, brick and wood... I am about 40ft from the router and have 2 wood/sheetrock walls between me & router.
Anything else you can think of that may help?

What actual spectrum modem is it?
What speeds (upload and download) do you pay for?
What speeds do you get hardwired into the modem?Try direct connecting a pc/laptop to the modem and use it. See if you run into the same issue.
If all the devices on the network are having the same issue, its good to start at the basics and rule out the modem/conneciton

I've done that much. Even when my speeds are slow via wifi, if I run Speedtest directly from the router, they are consistently around 300MBps.

Again, if its happening to wired AND wireless devices, it makes me suspicious. Reason why is you can run into issues with wifi interference but if you're getting it on hardwired devices as well, it tends to be a broader issue. It could still be the router. so try a factory reset and see if it helps.
