Router (Nighthawk RAX50) looses dhcp range after reboot

I have setup the dhcp range from my router from 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.200 . After that i have setup "address reservation" for several devices outside this dhcp range (eg 192.168.1.201).

After reboot the dhcp range is put back to 192.168.1.2 - 192.168.1.255 and my devices have received a random ip address.

Have i done something wrong ...or is something wrong with the router?

Thanks in advance.

IP address reservations have to be with in the default DHCP IP address pool range. Any devices that you want to have IP addresses out side of the pool range, you'll need to set a STATIC IP Address ON the devices themselves that is out side of of the default IP add pool range.

Hi Furry,

Thanks for the quick reply. First i did the ip address reservation withing the dhcp range but that didn't work either. After a reboot of the router, the ip addresses were mixed up. That's why i did setup the ip address reservation outside the dhcp range.

IP reservations should be working with in the DHCP IP address pool.

Something I do with my RAX50v2 when I have it online. My DHCP pool is set for .100 to .150 for my needs I have static IP addresses devices out side of this pool and maybe a couple of IP address reservations with in it.

What browser are you using when setting IP address reservations? I use MS Edge.

Might try a factory reset and setup from scratch with the wired PC.

Then go in and change the IP address pool size:

Apply the change, then go in and set a couple of IP address reservations by adding them. Once added, be sure you are selecting the APPLY button on the LAN setup page to make the change to the router and the router should reboot here.

Thanks for your helpful information..much appreciated !

I'm currently using Chrome as my browser...will switch to Edge 🙂

And i think a factory reset /scratch setup is not a bad idea
