WiFi/internet keeps dropping

Hi,

My AX54200 (model # RAX43) router keeps dropping WiFi every few days, and all the connected devices will go offline. I tried resetting to factory settings and updating the firmware, but it still happens. The only solution is to power it off and turn it back on again. But it usually drops again a few days later. Has anyone here experienced this issue before?

Thanks.

Re: WiFi/internet keeps dropping

Your ISP Modem already has a built in router and wifi. This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. This would be a double NAT condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT

Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the NG router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the NG router gets from the modem. https://kb.netgear.com/25891/DMZ-on-NETGEAR-routers

3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the NG router to the modem, LAN to LAN configure AP mode on the NG router.

Re: WiFi/internet keeps dropping

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.

What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router been performed since last update?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
Turn off and unplug modem.
Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.

Re: WiFi/internet keeps dropping

Apologies for the delay.

I tried the suggestion to turn off the ISP modem, Netgear router, disconnect all devices, and restart everything.  However the issue persists.

Firmware version is v1.0.12.120 (router says latest version is installed).

The ISP modem is a Home Hub 3000.

Channels were set to auto. I switched as suggested, however the issue happened again a day or two later.

Regarding neighbour WiFi, yes there are lots. I can see 30 or more, depending on what device I'm using.

Thanks!
