Mac Issue
I have the Orbi CBK572 model with Cox Internet provider. Today I was told that there is a know Mac issue such that the modem keeps indicating there is no cabel connection. Had the Cox tech out to the house and confirmed everything is working. I call the Gearhead custormer support and was told there about this "known" Mac issue. Can anyone confirm this or am I being given the runnarround. I believe the Cox tech when he says everything is workingn properly. I checked his equipment myself and had him do all kinds of checks. They Orbi system is less than 6 months old. Help!

Re: Mac Issue
So, this CBR750 (the modem/router in the CBK752 package, which also includes one RBS750 satellite), has been working successfully with Cox for nearly six months and now reports "no cable connection"? And Cox technical support has no knowledge of this "MAC issue."
You paid Gearhead for support and they say, "there is a known MAC issue." and offered no solution? No work-around. No advice? No offer to replace the router under the one-year warranty?
There is a fascinating thread in the community forum for "Cable modems and routers": (2 pages)
What I take from this is:
- Yes, it appears that there is a known issue with regard to the CBR750 and Cox cable.
- Nothing in the thread said anything about MAC address (that I could see).
- There is a difference of opinion over whether it is a result of a recent firmware update or not.
- Engineering is supposed to release a fix on 8/27 (saturday)
I hope they refunded your money for the call to GeekSquad.

Re: Mac Issue
Keep this in mind for next time:
Have the ISP check the signal and line quality UP to the modem. Be sure the ISP provisions the modem correctly.
Be sure there are no coax cable line splitters in the between the modem and ISP service box.
Be sure your using good quality RG6 coax cable up to the modem.
Be sure to power OFF the modem for 1 minute them back ON.
