My connected devices loose connectivity with ORBI RBR 850
Hello,
I have a an Orbi RBR850 router and one ORBI Satellite connected at my house. Connecting with tablets, phones, laptops or macs etc. and using the wifi works flawless.
I do have a list of smart devices in the house that I also connect such as Blink cameras, smart thermostat, robot hoover, car charger and so on. Lately I have also connected a heatpump and a solar inverter that were connecting to the satellite via Wifi and thats where the issues started. Those keep loosing connection to the internet at least once a day and they can never recover their connection even though they are connected to the satellite. I need to reset the connection in the devices and after some they are coming back. I have tried various solutions but the effects are always the same. The last I tried was to install a managed netgear switch and run a cable (15m) from the satellite to the room where the heatpump and solar inverter sit and connected them to the switch directly. This worked well for less then a day and the same problem appeared again. Now the switch even though it is connected to the satellite via cable shows as offiline in the ORBI app. I have restarted the switch, changed the cable at the satellite to no avail.
I have restarted the satellite and it shows a blue light so connection to the router should be fine. My firmware is v4.6.14.3 and App Version is 2.22.0.2662.
Any help welcome.
Thanks

Re: My connected devices loose connectivity with ORBI RBR 850
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and 📡 satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.

What channels are you using? Auto? Try Auto and 48 on 5Ghz. Or try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?
Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, Smart Parental Controls or Circle, Traffic Meter.
Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s). Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings
Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router been performed since last update?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
Turn off and unplug modem.
Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.
Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update? A complete pull of the power adapters for a period of time after the factory reset then walk thru the setup wizard and setup from scratch. Recommend setting the default DHCP IP address pool range to the following after applying and a factory reset: 192.168.#.100 to 192.168.#.200.
I would power OFF the ISP modem for 1 minute. Factory reset the Orbi router and power it off. Power ON the ISP modem and let it sync. Then power ON the Orbi router and walk thru the setup wizard again using a wired PC and a web browser.
Press the back reset button for 15 seconds then release.

Re: My connected devices loose connectivity with ORBI RBR 850
Thank you for the quick answer. I will go through your suggestions over the weekend and post here what I found.
What I did because it was quick were 2 things: 1) I did disable Armor and Traffic Control which did not have any immediate effect 2) I tried to connect to the web-interface of the router whilst being connected to the satellite. I could logon/authenticate to the interface but none of the pages were loading.
i will do more tests over the weekend and post back.
