One MacBook Pro will not get IP from satellite
I am experiencing an issue where only one device (a MacBook Pro) will not get get an IP and internet access when it connects to the Orbi Satellite (RBS750) ONLY. It gets a 169.* address and no connectivity. It connects fine to the main router (RBR750). I can tell which it's attempting to connect to by the BSSID. Previously it worked, but an update seems to have broken it sometime in 2022. All other devices connect perfectly.
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013) running Big Sur 11.7.5 (the latest Big Sur release; this machine doesn't support Monterey or Ventura).
Orbi Router and Satellite are both on firmware V4.6.14.3
- Access Control is turned off. I tried toggling it on and off as well.
- I tried the following to no avail:
- Removing the WiFi network in System Preferences and re-adding it
- Removing the WiFi adapter in System Preferences and re-adding it
- Restarting both Orbi Router and Satellite
- Resetting both Orbi Router and Satellite and setting the network up from scratch (with same SSID/PW) via the web interface

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and 📡 satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.

️What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?One of those posts you linked was resolved by a factory reset and setup from scratch...Something to try. A complete pull of the power adapters for a period of time after the factory reset then walk thru the setup wizard and setup from scratch with a wired PC and web browser. Recommend setting the default DHCP IP address pool range to the following after applying and a factory reset: 192.168.#.100 to 192.168.#.200.

I would power OFF the ISP modem for 1 minute. Factory reset the Orbi router and power it off. Power ON the ISP modem and let it sync. Then power ON the Orbi router and walk thru the setup wizard again using a wired PC and a web browser.
Press the back reset button for 15 seconds then release.

I've not need this with my 2018 Mac Book Pro with my 7 series...

The only option I see is a single checkbox for Enable 20/40 MHz Coexistence, which is checked. Should I uncheck it?
I will try the CTS setting and report back.

For this size of home, the RBR would be enough, however since your using one RBS, I would turn down the power from 100% to 25%. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings

I would also remove any saved SSID profiles with in the Networking/WiFi settings on OSX as well, then try to connect the mac book.
