Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Mick

Re: Orbi 850 port forwarding
The first step is usually to validate that the Internet Service Provider is actually not acting as a router by checking with one of the many "What is my IP?" web sites, such as
If the site displays the public IP as something different than the IP that shows up on the Orbi web management Advanced Tab under Internet Port, then the ISP is definitely acting as a router and port forwarding on the Orbi cannot work.
The second step is to verify that the internal device is ready to accept connections. For this, I like to use Gibson's Shields Up! web site: https://www.grc.com/shieldsup Follow the directions and it will verify the state of the desired port. 8126 is not one of the common ports, so pick the option to specify the port to scan.
- Open means that it was able to connect to the internal resource.
- Closed means that the internal resource refused the connection. i.e. the attempt got through the Orbi, but the internal device said, "no".
- Stealth means that the connection attempt simply disappeared.
If you name the home automation system, perhaps someone on the forum has personal experience with it and can comment.
Starlink is not something I personally have experience with.

Re: Orbi 850 port forwarding
Please share how you got it working.
Glad you got it working. Please mark your thread as solved so others will know. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.
