Orbi can't connect after setting change
I have an RBR850 and have been having issues where it can't connect to Internet. My router is fine, I plug in and signal is good. No colored lights on my Orbi... which means it thinks it has an IP address. However, when I connect to it via WiFi from any device, it can't reach an outside IP.
I've done all the usual fixes... including rebooting and factory reset. Here is the strange problem:
When I factory reset. Everything works fine. I then go into control panel to change the SSID from ORBI65 to the SSID I use in my house. ONE simple setting change and BOOM the router no longer connect to Internet. Again, no lights and it thinks it's connected but changing the SSID forces this problem.
Any thoughts? I can't run the default SSID as I have countless devices in my home that I would need to reset. Why does making this one simple config change cause the ORBI to drop the Internet connection?

Indeed, only changing the SSID should not affect its upstream internet connection so there is more going on here and we need to investigate and rule out different factors. For example:
- Do you have any wired devices connected to your Orbi? Can they access the internet whereas the wireless cannot?
- If you use a web browser and go to http://orbilogin.com/, what does the first screen say (in the Basic tab)? Does it show Internet = GOOD and Wireless = [your new SSID]?
- In that same orbilogin.com admin website, press on the Attached Devices section and are your wireless devices that cannot connect to the Internet listed there?
- Have you tried restarting the problemmatic wireless devices after changing your Orbi's SSID? This would eliminate that the problem is due to the device not connecting to the Orbi new SSID vs. the Orbi not being connected to the internet.

Re: Orbi can't connect after setting change
What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
What security mode are you using for the wifi? WPA2? Or WPA3?
