Using CBR40 in bridge mode with RBR750
So I recently (today) acquired an RBR750 mesh wifi router (and three satellites) to improve coverage and performance in my home. I've been using the CBR40 as modem/router, but I have serious dead spo...
Ensure the WAN port of the CBR40 is being connected from the WAN port on the RBR750.
Swap LAN cables. CAT6 is recommended.
Thanks. There is no WAN port on the CBR40.
Nothing worked. Spent three hours on the phone with NetGear support last night. As soon as the CBR40 goes into Bridge Mode, we lose all communication with it. Same thing happens if you merely turn off the DHCP server on the CBR40.
Looks like a new cable modem is in my future.
And even if you power OFF the CBR and back ON with a wired PC connected to the LAN Port #1 do you not get any on this one PC?
- Exactly. Zero, zip, nada. I’ve tried with manual IP address or not. Once the CBR40 goes into bridge mode I lose all contact with outside world. And with the cable modem. Only way to recover is a hard reset of the modem
