CBR40 Modem Only Mode
Can someone please explain if I can turn CBR40 into a modem only mode and attach a different router (Asus, Eero etc.) to it? I see there is a bridge mode in the settings but does activating this mode...

There is usually a "Help" option at the bottom of the screen of the Orbi web interface. What does it say when pulled up?
This would seem like a simple question to answer provided that there is a device with an Ethernet interface that can be connected to the CBR40. If the device is assigned the public IP address of the CBR40, then it is truly in Bridge mode and another router can be connected to it.

I will try what you mentioned but I wanted to see if anyone actually has a setup like this at home, I don't want to buy a new router without knowing if this is possible or not.

Very good idea to test before spending money. At some point, you may want to consider upgrading to a DOCSIS3.1 modem, especially if you have interest in subscribing to a gigabit level of service.
I have no idea how many of the combo cable modem units Netgear sold. My impression is that customers come to the forum only when they have a question, and none of the regular participants have a CBR device.
