Firmware V1.12.0.18 Discussion
This does indeed appear to be based on (identical to?) the last private beta V1.12.0.16 and has been released to the public. Hope it helps!
Guest mode AP isolation finally works 100% over IPv4...
New Features and Enhancements:
- Supports ReadySHARE Printer for Orbi devices that are equipped with a USB port
- Updated the OrbiOS API to v3.14
Bug Fixes:
- Fixes the iOS disconnection issue.
- Fixes the Dropcam disconnection issue.
- Fixes the convergence issue when an Ethernet connected device moves from one Orbi to another.
- Fixes the issue where the Orbi app can’t find the Orbi router if the router is using IPv6 and is in AP mode.
- Fixes the issue where the Orbi app can’t display more than 20 connected devices.
- Fixes the issue where the installation assistant might not display if the device is connected to the Orbi network wirelessly.
- Fixes the issue where the 2.4 GHz backhaul setting is disabled if the fronthaul MU-MIMO and TxBF is disabled.

So you aded that block, downgraded and no issues with it AutoUpdating it again? If so I'm going to try this tonight when I get home.
Blocking downloads.netgear.com wasnt enough i still got updated. Gonna try telnet method
Had stable beta firmware (1.11.0.20) for a month and then Orbi and satellite auto updated three days ago and now disconnects resurfaced. I performed a factory reset hoping i coud downgrade back to beta firmware however it defaulted back to newest firmware. Blows my mind that Netgear has not resolved this and even worse ive never in my life seen a puece of hardware auto update to the newest firmware automatically!! Netgear you should be ashamed! Have had this Orbi system for four months now and have had nothing but issues with it. Wish i could return it but im stuck with it. Will never purchase another Netgear product again as this has been nothing but a major headache fir me and my family for months now!

Netgear: please pull this fw for rbk50 as well ASAP!Well, I was also having the disconnect problem with my GS8+ and the Orbi (RBR50/RBS50). My router is in AP mode like many of the others having this problem. I downgraded from the latest firmware of 1.12.0.18 to firmware 1.11.0.20 at the recommendation of everyone on the Netgear thread. After power cycling both the router and the satellite, I still experienced the disconnect problem with my GS8+. Nothing else on my network was experiencing this. So, I looked further into my wireless settings on the GS8+ and here is what I did:
1. Smart Network Switch was already on but on "Normal" mode. I switched this to Aggressive switching.
2. Hotspot 2.0 was on. I turned this off.
3. Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep was set to "While charging" so I switched this to "Always"
After that, I unplugged the satellite and then forced a reboot on the router and then plugged the satellite back in. The phone connected and didn't disconnect after 10 minutes. So I upgraded the firmware on the router and satellite back to 1.12.0.18 and it's been 45 minutes and I have yet to have a disconnect with my GS8+. Download speeds are completely as expected. Not really sure if I did anything major here but that's what I did and I'm having zero issues now. Hopefully this will help someone.
