Help with Virtual server (lorex camera)
Hoping someone can help me out with this issue. Recently got an Orbi wifi mesh system. Everything works perfectly except for lorex Camera system. I cannot access the camera using my iphone. I know the issue is with the router because when I use my old router again, I am able to view the camera feed. My old router is a TP link and the installer for the cameras had setup "virtual servers" on the tp link router. I cannot find the equivalent of virtual servers on the orbi router. Anybody have any insight into this would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Help with Virtual server (lorex camera)
Have you looked into "port forwarding"? On the Advanced Tab, Advanced Setup, Port Forwarding.
There have been questions about Lorex camera systems before. Here's one: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi/Orbi-with-Lorex-netHD/m-p/1146288#M391
I did not realize that a Lorex installer program could make changes to a router configuration. My guess is that this is a common problem for Lorex users and Lorex support would have information on how to set it up.

I did try to port forward but i keep getting an error message " This IP address should be in the same subnet as the LAN IP address."

Re: Help with Virtual server (lorex camera)
Oh, geez. Sorry. I have never set up port forwarding. My camera system uses a central server to maintain links to the cameras, so I do not have to have a dynamic DNS account or set up port forwarding.
May be time to read up, or ask a specific question on this forum that will draw the attention of experts.

Re: Help with Virtual server (lorex camera)
I would approach the Mfr of these cameras for setup and router configuration help as well. They should now if Port Fowarding is needed or not with there cameras.

You can try this out and see if it helps:
If you can't access Lorex admin page, plug the old router back in and login to Lorex admin page. Check its TCP/IP address to see if it's on a different private network (subnet) than the router. If yes, click DHCP box, save and turn it off. Now replace the old router with Orbi. Plug everything back and power up, the Lorex should now get a new IP address from Orbi, which will be in same subnet as Orbi.
