Orbi Connection dropping issues?
I use the RBS20 and over the last few days i have noticed on my desktop computer that inconsistently every few minutes it would disconnect from the orbi satellite i have it connected to via Cat6 ethernet cable. It has worked fine for years but now appears to be a distance issue to the main router? When i connected my desktop to the satellite while it was placed next to the router it worked fine. In event viewer i was getting a "Intel(R) Ethernet Connection (7) I219-V" has begun resetting" issue also stating that the "The network driver requested that it be reset". Before i bought i 2.5g pcie ethernet card to hope that fixed the issue. Now event viewer doesnt day that while using the new card and not the onboard one, but does still disconnect and in the applications and services log under networkstatus- analytics it starts out just saying orbi disconnected. This is on Windows 11.

Re: Orbi Connection dropping issues?
While a 2.5G Ethernet card is supposed to be backward compatible with slower speed Ethernet, there is absolutely no way that it can improve performance. The Orbi satellite LAN port is limited to 1Gbit.
If something has "worked for years" and the Orbi router and satellite remain in the same locations, that does not seem to point toward a "distance issue".
I would focus on the desktop computer.
- Has software been updated recently? (aside from adding another Ethernet adapter)
- Is there a pattern to these disconnections?
- Does the Windows network troubleshooter complain about anything?
- What is required to get the Ethernet connection working again? (restart desktop? restart satellite?)
