Is is okay to place the Orbi & modem in an enclosed cabinet or closet?

Any time you add more walls / materials between the main unit and the sat, you'll be cutting down on signal..
That said...in my case a stick built home.... my sat is 40 ft away from the main and it did end up in a closet on a self ( wife didn't want it on her work desk ( happy wife, happy life ))
Tests before and after showed no diiference with transfer rates as I could tell.

Agree with the previous posts about adding more walls/doors just degrades signal ....
... but I too also have the base router in a pantry in the garage and have noticed no degradation in signal either.
