Orbi RBR50 how to prioritize devices

Is there a way to prioritize the various devices using the Orbi RBR50’s and it satellite’s WiFi signals? There are certain devices we have that are more important that others (e.g. home office computer is more important than the TV). Is there a way to prioritize devices so that the more important ones receive the stronger signal 5Ghz instead of the weaker 2.4Ghz?
Thanks in advance for any help figuring this out!

No there isn't. Orbi and each device automatically handles how devices get connected based on device support, signal and noise. You can change to manual channels and security modes and thats about it.

In fact, the 2.4 GHz signal is usually stronger than the 5 GHz because the lower the signal frequency the lower the attenuation. You are probably refering to the capabilities of the band not signal strength! 🙂

It's always the device who chooses which band to connect to, not the AP (Orbi).

Only few device types allow you to choose your prefered band. In Wndows computers, most of the wifi drivers have settings to prefer 5 GHz or 2.4 GHz.

On the other hand, in Orbi there is a feature called Band Steering, which will always try to steer 5GHz-capable devices to connect to the 5GHz band, provided that the device has previosly successfully connected to the 5 GHz band.
