Everything was working well w/ my wired backhaul. I was having problems with one of my security cameras (connects 2.4 or 5 ghz) staying connected. I changed the primary channel from 48 to 36. When I did that things started to go haywire.
What I think I found that corrected the problem..
I turned off the router and satellite (unplugged both)
Booted them back up
Daisy chain topology was enabled.
I confirmed in the web interface the satellite was connected to the router wirelessly
I turned off and unplugged the satellite
connected the wired backhaul
Plugged in and turned on satellite
I was able to confirm in the web interface the satellite was there.. it was showing 2.4 ghz poor (normally it would say 5 ghz good).
At this point I hit the sync button on router then satellite.. within 5 minutes the web interface said a wired connection.
Hope this helps.

Orbi is in AP mode, switch is Netgear S8000 assigned IPs for all devices, still sattalite will show as attached no matter what I do.

All, try this... set a static IP to your satellites... under LAN setup in advanced. Then upgrade. I'm the biggest nay-sayer but that is the only change I made and things seem ok after an update. I have been a vocal critic -- and this is a butt backwards fix if this works for others, sorry.
Above said. I'm probably leaving Orbi for a UniFi setup. It appears stable and more versatile. To many unknown future issues with Orbi.

You can’t set the satellites to static addresses, at least via the web GUI. Best you can do is give them reserved DHCP addresses, which I recommend.

What’s the difference?

The RBW30 with your latest firmware still has an issue with our iPhone SE. It keeps disconnecting and disrupting the WIFI network.
Another issue with the RBW30 is that you can't play Fortnite when connected to this device.
We experience at least 5 WIFI disconnects per hour when the iPhone SE is connected to it and causing havoc. All devices connected to
the RBW30 are loosing their connection......no Netfix, no Streaming Audio, no Chromecast.

....i uploaded 2.1..4.16 did a factory reset on all the router and satellite and speeds on my laptop are bellow 50Mbits on a 100 Mbits line.
Almost constantly...If I plug everything off and plug back in I get max speed for a few moments.
I uploaded back 2.1.4.10 and without factory reset there are no problems with my laptop.
The only problems I had with 2.1.4.10 is connection drops on my andorid devices.
So please....It is firmware's fault. The Netgear team is probably very low skilled in this. While other products work great the orbi does not. It is not like they are doing a rocket science with this product or something that has never been done before. They are simply not up to the task. They should hire some expert to help them sort these issues.

Well I have tried for 28 days to get this stable and for the first two weeks its seems to have worked just fine. (with wired backhaul)
Then they asked me here to power down (as in a power faillure situation) then it took me more then 1,5 our to get everything up and running again...
But after that it seems stable again, but that was for like two days....
Now it keeps failing me with allkinds of things wifi speed drops, connection drops, satellite connection faults its going on and on.
So I am glad that I listened to the one that told me to test this bacause now I know it's not a reliable product..
There is also no response from Netgear on this, in my opinion they should have update us with information that they are working on it...
I have a 30 day money back garantee on this product and its now day 28 so after this message I will disconnect and run back to the store...
I was a TP-Link user but they just could not keep up with firmware updates....
For some reason I thought that Netgear would not have these kind of issues.....
Now I am going to try Ubiquity and see if they can satisfy my family with stable wifi and internet.
Thanks for all the help and advise here.
