Orbi with ATT Fiber
Hello,
I'm moving into a new home that has a box in the laundry room that contains all the ethernet wiring for the house (10 Cat 5e cables). My only choice for an ISP is ATT and based on the size of the house, I will likely need the Orbi to extend my wireless to provide full coverage. I'm not particularly interested in the router settings for the Orbi, so I plan on using it in AP mode (unless someone tells me that this would somehow hinder performance). My question is for the setup, the size of the Orbi is too big to fit into the box due to its depth, especially since the gateway and a switch will be housed there. Would it be possible to use a switch to connect all the ethernet cables to the gateway, then attach the Orbi to an ethernet jack in my office and have it function in AP mode from there?
Thanks.
