RBR50 After iOS Upgrade to 16.0 and MacOS to Ventura getting connectivity issues
First, it started with my recently upgraded M1 Macbook to Ventura. Getting SSL errors and logs indicate login refused. MacOS has been stable for the past few hours but my iPhone13 is still having issues. I've done the following to try to resolve:
iOS:
- Forget network/reconnect
- enable/disable private network
- Restart
- Disconnect/Reconnect wifi
AT&T Uverse Router:
- Reboot
Orbi RBR50 with 2x satellites (Firmware 2.7.4.24)
- Reboot entire system.
Overall symptoms: Most issues appear to be some sort of certificate issues with routerlogin.net and is ONLY affecting Apple OS products in my house. The loss of internet is random and will come back after a time. I have a Win10 device as well and it's connected fine. All iOS devices are running ver. 16.
#rbr50 #routerlogin.net #certificateissue
Unsure if this is related to latest OS versions but I didn't have any issue until within the last 38 hours.
All iOS devices are running

Re: RBR50 After iOS Upgrade to 16.0 and MacOS to Ventura getting connectivity issues
Your ISP Modem already has a built in router and wifi. This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT
https://kb.netgear.com/30187/How-to-fix-issues-with-Double-NAT
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7LOcJ8GdDo&app=desktop
Try option #2 first.
Be sure to disable any wifi private IP address features on Apple devices:

Re: RBR50 After iOS Upgrade to 16.0 and MacOS to Ventura getting connectivity issues
Count me in on this issue now. Just started happening for ONLY my Apple devices today. My Ventura Macbook is more on than off and my iOS v. 16 devices are more off than on the internet. AppleTV and Alexa devices are also affected. No changes to network. over 40 devices and 2 satellites covering 4800sqt ft. multilevel. Again, everything was fine until today.
Is this Netgear's way of saying it's time to upgrade? 😉

Re: RBR50 After iOS Upgrade to 16.0 and MacOS to Ventura getting connectivity issues
What is the distance between the router and 📡 satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.
https://kb.netgear.com/31029/Where-should-I-place-my-Orbi-satellite 📡
What channels are you using? Auto? Try Auto and 48 on 5Ghz. Or try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?
Try enabling Beamforming and MIMO(MIMO may or may not be needed) and WMM. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings
Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, Circle, Traffic Meter.
Daisy Chain, Fast Roaming, Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Set CTS to 64. Set Short preamble instead of Long preamble modes. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s). Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings
