RBR50
Hi
Internet speed to the router is about 950 Mbps. Connecting a laptop via Ethernet cable (installed in the wall) the speed falls to about 150 Mpbs measured at the laptop. Wifi connection to a nearby Orbi satellite is about 100 Mbps measured at the laptop.
However, when I connect the Orbi satellite to the same ethernet wall outlet and then connect the laptop to the satellite via another ethernet cable the speed is about 850 Mbps!
So out of interest does anyone know why interposing an Orbi satellite and another Ethernet cable into what was otherwise a direct ethernet route can make it 5x faster?
Not complaining just interested to know why.
Thanks
B

Re: RBR50
Usually we see the reverse. The satellite slowing it down. Are you using any parental controls, traffic monitoring, disney circle, armor? You can try disabling those.
Also try a different device hardwired in. Could be the laptop

Glad you got it working. Please mark your thread as solved so others will know. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.
