Orbi RBK50 to TPG FTTC connection

Hi,
We purchased an Orbi RBK50 and had an issue connecting to the internet via our TPG FTTC modem. We followed the advice in the discussion group and logged into the Orbi from an internet browsers rather than through the app. We went to advanced setup and enabled and changed the VLAN ID to 2 via VLAN/bridge setting “by bridge group” and chose port 1. This made the internet connection work but now one of the Ethernet ports on the back of the Orbi will not work. Any suggestions as we would like to plug in 3 devices via the ports?
Thanks

Re: Orbi RBK50 to TPG FTTC connection

is this your setup?

https://community.tpg.com.au/t5/Broadband-Internet/NBN-Fibre-to-the-Curb-FTTC-Setup-Guide/td-p/7856

if so.....

looks like your modem has wifi built in...??    This means you now have 2 routers....not good.

you will need to set one router in the access point mode.

Re: Orbi RBK50 to TPG FTTC connection

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT
https://kb.netgear.com/30187/How-to-fix-issues-with-Double-NAT
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7LOcJ8GdDo&app=desktop

Thanks for your replies.

The NBN modem is a NetCommWireless FTTC Network Connection Device model NDD-0300

Will configuring the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode fix the Ethernet ports on the NG router?

Thanks

Re: Orbi RBK50 to TPG FTTC connection

Configuring Transparent or Bridge mode will help with NAT issue between the ISP modem and the RBR.

https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT
https://kb.netgear.com/30187/How-to-fix-issues-with-Double-NAT

Transparent or bridge mode is preferred on the ISP modem.
