Netgear XS508TM Switch Even-Numbered Ports Powering Up Before Initialization

We are experiencing an issue with our Netgear XS508TM switches. As soon as we power on the switches, before they are fully operational, the Ethernet ports of devices connected to the even-numbered switch ports (e.g., 2-4-6-8) receive power, and their port lights turn on. However, the corresponding port LEDs on the switch itself do not light up. This behavior is not observed on the odd-numbered ports (e.g., 1-3-5-7), where the Ethernet port LEDs of connected devices remain off until the switch becomes fully operational.

We would like to see the same behavior on even-numbered ports as we do on odd-numbered ones. What could be the reason for this? Is this normal behavior for this switch?

Product: XS508TM

Firmware Version: 7.8.11.13

    Hello sefateber

A possible temporary data leak before the effectively intended running config is in place, indeed.

Yes, under ideal conditions, these situations should never appear. Netgear respectively the OEM should indeed address that issue.

Keep in mind, the LED are software driven on modern devices, not direct controlled by hardware. So that is only a side effect.
