just because it doesn't work doesn't mean its a firmware issue.

what are the led's on it doing?

have you tried connecting them on the same circuit?

Many things influence powerline and can make it incompatible with a home or work poorly at times. these include:

    arc fault breakers

    gfci outlets

    surge protectors

    high draw appliances

    poorly made electronics

    some cell phone chargers

    or even electronics going bad.

    old/poorly done wiring

I'd recommend hooking them on the same electrical circuit to see if they connect. Thats the easiest way to check them. It doesn't mean that they aren't working if they won't connect, it could still be the wiring/interference. But it would give you the least interference if something is injecting feedback into the powerline.

Powerline technology isn't the same as routers. It is essentially a bit of wire.

Firmware is mostly there for plugs with wifi.

Apart from that it is "dumb" technology. Plug it in  and it should work. If not, something else is happening. See what plemans says.

If you want more advice, tell us a bit about what is happening at your end.

We need a bit more than "it does not work".

What are you doing and where does it go wrong?

Here at least, PL1000s were a doddle. Plug into router, then plug into remote socket, attach access point, bingo. I had to do nothing else.
