Can't connect second user using ReadyNAS Remote
I have one user account set up that enabled me to access my ReadyNAS Duo from my iOS devices and from my Win 7 laptop. I added a new user but I cannot get access to the Duo with this account, neither from the Win 7 laptop (it says that there is a problem with the Leaf adapter and the ReadyNAS remote programme crashes) or from my iOS devices where it simply fails to log in. If I restart the ReadyNAS Remote on my laptop I can connect using my original account; likewise with my iOS devices.
So how do I get my second user account to work?

- sjdigitalAspirantOK, some progress overnight. I can now log in using the second user ID but I still can't actually access the ReadyNAS. When I try to do it from an iOS device the ReadyNAS Remote App tells me that I need to make sure that the username has been added to the Allowed list on the ReadyNAS Remte management page, which it has. And when I try to connect from my Win 7 laptop I just get the screen which would show the connected device but which is just blank with 0 Online and 0 Offline. But no Leaf Adapter crashes thank goodness.
Any ideas, guys? - abm7021Aspirant
I seem to be having this a similar problem...
From ReadyNAS Frontview I click on Services -> Installed Add-ons, and verify that the "ReadyNAS Remote" add-on has been installed and is turned on (green dot in the upper-right).
I click on the "Manage ReadyNAS Remote button and a "Remote Access" window pops up listing the "Found" and "Allowed" User Names. I have three usernames under the "Allowed" column, two work and one does not.
I have created and am able to log into the http://remote.readynas.com profile for all three "Allowed" usernames.
I have created permissions profiles (User & Group Accounts) for all three "Allowed" usernames, granting access to shares to each.
I am able to successfully log into the ReadyNAS Remote client software using each of the three usernames, but only two of the usernames result in a Device showing up in the window.
*username1* = Device is online "NAS_01"
*username2* = Device is online "NAS_01"
*username3* = No Devices Found - "0 Online | 0 Offline"
I can access the appropriate shares for each username when logging into the ReadyNAS Duo locally, on the LAN.
The issue I'm running into...and which I suspect you might be experiencing too... is that the UserID (*username3*) does not appear to be linked to the device.
Is there a step I've missed that is preventing *username3* from registering access to the Device? From what I can tell, the only way to link a Device to a UserID is to:
1.) Create a profile at remote.readynas.com, and add UserID *username3* (not the real username, of course)
2.) Add the UserID to the "Allowed" column on the Remote Access control list
P.S. - I just noticed...the only difference I can see between the three usernames is the two that work have strictly alpha-characters, no numerals or punctuation. The username that does not work has a "." in it.
For example:
*username1* = jsmith - WORKS
*username2* = rogersmith - WORKS
*username3* = dan.smith - DOES NOT WORK, no devices linked to this username
