Backup error: cannot create directory .... permission denied
So thanks to the excellent help on this board, I was able to finally start running backups from my NAS to my PC. I have three backup jobs, but two failed indicating. My log file from one of those bac...
I think your source path name is incorrect on the backup job settings. The starting \ should be removed. It should just be 1-TM-PRODUCTION
The backup will also fail if the NAS doesn't have permission from Windows to write to the TM_Deanna share. If the TM account credentials are the ones you use on the PC, then the windows file permissions are probably ok. But you might want to double-check that the network permissions for the windows folder give TM full access.

Have you tried resetting the permission of the TM_Deanna share? Also, confirm if the Path was manually entered or was it chosen or selected via the 'browse' button?

The path was copied over from Explorer, so should be fine. Regarding your suggestion to reset the permissions, I'm sorry, but not sure exactly what that means or how to do it. :(

Copying the name from Explorer does not guarantee the name will be fine. NAS shares are case sensitive, Windows is not.

Yes.
To clarify:
-The source share name is selected from the pulldown, so it has to be correct.
-The destination path (TM_Deanna-BAK) is simply given to Windows, so it is case insensitive.
-The source path is case sensitive (even though that doesn't matter to Windows).
So make sure the path name is correct (and remove the \)
