Port forwarding on WNDR 4500
Im using a WNDR4500. Im not sure which version, but Netgear genei doesnt say if its any particular one so I assumed it was the first one.
Im trying to host a server from my computer that my friends can play on, and I'm trying to do this through port 25565. The internal ip of the device that the server runs off of and my friends are supposed to connect to is 192.168.1.26.
I went to the advanced setup and followed every tutorial I could find on protforawarding. You can see the port forwarding settings in the image below. Everything seems as it should be but when I go to a Open port checker and enter my external ip: 75.89.xxx.xxx, it says my port isnt opened. I then tried entering my private ip: 192.168.1.26 and that still showed no results. I've followed a couple of forums already on the topic on this site but I still couldnt find anything that would help. Please mind that I am quite new to this stuff and forgive me if I show any ignorance.
Ok I figured it out! When you mentioned a NAT Router blocking my port I did some researsh to understand what you meant. To put it in layman terms for people like me, it means that the motem box is blocking your router from connecting to the outside world. I connected to my motems network and when into its settings (Im using Windstream) and I disabled all the firewalls. The I made a new port. I took the internal IP that was belonging to my router: 192.168.254.64 and ported port 25565 using TCP/UDP. Then the port checker was displaying my port was open and my firends were able to join my server. Thank you for the kind help, and I'm sorry if I gave you any hard times!!!

I noticed that my image didnt upload well so heres a list of the port settings:
Service Name: Minecraft Server
Service Type: TCP/UDP
External Starting Port: 25565
External Ending Port: 25565
Use the same port range for internal port: checked
Internal Starting Port: 25565
Internal Ending Port: 25565
Internal IP address: 192.168.1.26 (This si the IPV4 address of the laptop thats running the server)

The non-psychics in your audience may have little idea what you could

(unroutable, private) address like 192.168.1.26 would be unreachable.
"75.89.xxx.xxx" is a public address, but see item 1, below.The usual problems with this stuff are:
1. Wrong external IP address (different from the port-forwarding
router's WAN/Internet IP address). (An intermediate NAT router, for
example, could cause this. Or an ISP using carrier-grade NAT to
conserve IPv4 addresses.)Does the IP address of the WAN/Internet interface of your router
match what you're using as your public IP address from the outside
world? ADVANCED > ADVANCED Home : Internet Port : Internet IP Address2. Bad port-forwarding rule (wrong port(s), wrong target address --
including a wandering target).Yours looks reasonable.
How did you ensure that your game server system always has the right
IP address? Static configuration? Reserved dynamic address?3. Server not listening on the port-forwarding target system.

Seldom the problem.

The router is connected to a motem that I got from Windstream, im not sure what model it is though.

find (or where you looked).I followed multiple tutorials on how to port forward for the game (Minecraft) on youtube, then I went to Reddit, then I went here. I followed around 5 or 6 forums on this website but I couldnt find anything.
Which "a Open port checker"?
I was using https://www.portchecktool.com/ and https://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ which both say the port is closed.

When I use https://www.portchecktool.com/ it says that the website cant connect with the port dure to the conncetion timing out rather than prompting it was refused by a potential firewall or ISP block.
