R6080 and Streaming device issues Roku
I have a Netgear R6080. I can get onto the internet with my PC, my phones, however I cannot get onto either Roku streaming devices. One is about 5' from the router, one is about 20'.
This issue is JUST RECENT as I have had the router since November 2021 and have not had any issues.
The streaming devices both show I am on the correct Netgear77 as I should be and the connect is Excellent.
But... They will not connect. Each and every app will not connect. Yes, I have contacted Roku and they say it is the router.
As far as the router, modem, streaming devices and computer have ALL been rebooted, restarted, unplugged etc. MANY times.
Please please please can someone help me.
TIA!

When you log into the router, the status page should have the firmware.
Try a different DNS Server. Here's a few. Also remember to change the ipv6 dns server if ipv6 is enabled.
CloudFlare
IPv4: 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1
IPv6: 2606:4700:4700:0:0:0:0:1111 and 2606:4700:4700:0:0:0:0:1001
GoogleDNS
IPv4: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
IPv6: 2001:4860:4860:0:0:0:0:8888 and 2001:4860:4860:0:0:0:0:8844

Be warned, the R6080 is pretty well Netgear's cheapest router. It has very slow Ethernet technology.
According to Netgear's manual for this device, not always the most reliable source of information, the LAN and WAN ports support only 10BASE-T or 100BASE-TX. That makes it slower than many newer internet services and most modern network hardware. This may not matter to you, but be warned that it will hobble you if you ever sign up for faster Internet, anything faster than 100 Mbps is a waste of your money.
It also slows down whatever is going on in your local network. Newer devices support at least 1000BASE-TX.
Because it can't talk to your modem and the outside world at anything faster than 100 Mbps, your WiFi access to the Internet will hit the same road bumps.I have no idea how this will affect your Roku streaming.
