Wifi extender not working

Hello, I'm having an issue were I follow all the steps provided by the manual and when I'm connected to the extender in the set up stage, it doesn't have internet yet so the netgear set up page won't load. Anyone knows of a fix for such an issue?

The extender is a model Netgear WN3100RP. Thank you very much

    Did you set it up using the push button WPS option? 

    If so, factory reset the extender  and set it up using the installation assistant.

    To factory reset, push and hold the reset button for 7-15 seconds while powered on.
