AC1200 WiFi USB Adapter running slow

Hi there,

 

I'm experiencing some trouble with the speed of my 'AC1200 WiFI USB Adapter' I have a 7 MB/s internet speed contract with my suplier TalkTalk but can only seem to download at a speed of up to 750 KB/s. 

Has anyone else had this problem and is thier a fix?

Any help would be much appreciated

    I found when I plugged into my USB 3.0 I had a message saying it would be faster if I plugged it into a USB high speed port. Then after a while the USB 3.0 port stopped would stop working.

     

    Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated,
