USB wifi adapter connection issues

Installed my new N300 wifi USB adapter on my desktop, after I connected, it disconnected everything else in my house that was connected wirelessly and is asking for a password.  It is not the password that I have for my wifi, I have tried that.  It appears to be a password for the adapter, which I have no idea how to find.  Help!

    Hi sajarvey, 

     

    - What is the model number and version of your WiFi Adapter?

    - Can you detect the router WiFi network when you scan for networks? 

    - What is the exact message when you try to connect to a network? 

    - What is the brand and model of your WiFi router? Do you know how to access its admin page? If so, kindly access it and verify the Wireless Settings (WiFi name, security and password).
