2100 Expansion Problem 4tb drives x 4
I have a Readynas 2100 with 4x 2tb drives.
I have replaced these drives one by one with 4tb drives so I now have 4x4tb drives.
I didn't run the expansion until the end, when I rebooted the NAS.
Now I have a 10tb volume. From my calculations with x-raid2 this should be around the 12tb area?.
Any advise on what is going on would be great 🙂

Re: 2100 Expansion Problem 4tb drives x 4
0.9*12=10.8 which rounded down is 10.
Remember disk manufacturers use 1KB = 1000 Bytes whereas the NAS considers 1KB = 1024 Bytes.

Yes. Was just checking to make sure that is what you are running.

Re: 2100 Expansion Problem 4tb drives x 4
Can you confirm that 4TB drives are quite happy in the ReadyNAS 2100? Which model drives did you use? I currently have 2TB drives, and am running out of space, but was reluctant to upgrade to 4TB drives due to them not being on the compatibility list - the largest being 3TB.

They should work but if you run into issues using disks outside the compatibility list support will be unable to help.
Not all drives are equal. Some are more suited to NAS use than others.
