Backup Drobo Drive
Hi, I've just bought a ReadyNAS 102 to backup my Drobo 5N on our network but I'm having real trouble setting this up, can someone please give me some help and explain how to do this. I'm on a Mac network if this makes any difference?
Thanks in advance.

- vandermerweMasterHave you read the manuals?

Could you provide some more detail about what it is that you are not able to do. - stasiakAspirantHi,
To explain, I've got a small network in my office with 4 Macs, 3 printers, a Drobo 5N and now a Netgear ReadyNAS 102 connected. What I would like to do is set the ReadyNAS to automatically backup the data on the Drobo 5N once every day. The problem I'm facing is I can see how to point the ReadyNAS to see the Drobo shares on the network, I basically need help, I've got the IP address for the Drobo but still can't work out how to use this with the ReadyNAS software when I log into http://readycloud.netgear.com
Does this help?
Many thanks.
Carl - vandermerweMasterSo you can access the OS6 admin pages and see the backup tab where you set up backup tasks.
What protocols does the drobo have? ( smb/ nfs/ rsync) you would need one or all of these active on both devices and the drobo data would need to be accessible by the 102.
Start by setting up a backup job on the 102, it's fairly self explanatory and test it. - stasiakAspirantI've got the IP address and tried to connect with smb and I get a successfully connected message for the backup area of OS6, I use Type: remote to conncet, what name should I use remote:ftp, remote:hfs etc.?
One thing I can't do though when connected to the drobo IP address is browse the folders?
I've just tried to set a test up and it failed, I think if I could browse the folders once connected to the IP address this would work, wouldn't it? - vandermerweMasterYou'd use windows/Nas timestamp or archive bit for smb
Is nfs available on the drobo, if so use nfs
Set up the job, test it if it doesn't work post your exact settings and the error you get
