Backup jobs won't save

I factory reset my PRO6 about a week ago and just got around to setting up backup jobs again. But when I create a backup job in frontview I get a popup that says backup job 001 created but it's not listed then in the list of jobs. No jobs listed at all. Every time I add one it says backup job 001 created. I have ssh access. I'm guessing a file does not exist or has the wrong permissions on it. Can someone point me to the file where the backup job config is stored?

  • Never mind. I found it. I had to create an empty file at /etc/cron.d/frontview-backup owned by admin:admin. I have no idea why I didn't have such a file after a clean factory reset. Fortunately I had backed up my root partition before the reset so I found it by taking a look at that. I also noticed that /etc/cron.d/frontview-vol_maint was missing so I added that as well. The only thing I can think of here is that the only "restore" I did was I had backed up using frontview my users and shares config and restored that using frontview so users ID's would not change. Maybe that kind of restore did this?

Nope. Just hit the same snag on an Ultra I'm working on for my pal. No config restores used, just a factory reset, using x.22 Firmware.

Thanks for the post though, saved me the hassle of trying this and that to solve the problem.

    I'm guessing it's a 4.2.22 bug?
  • My factory reset was on 4.2.21 so both revs must have it. 4.2.22 has not been usable for me due to a couple of bugs so I'm still on 4.2.21.
