Backup "Cannot create directory" of ReadyNAS config file

Doing an SMB backup. Pushing from ReadyNAS to non-ReadyNAS.

A share on the ReadyNAS includes archived ReadyNAS config files.

Log says "Backup Status: Fail: Failure during copy." with a "Cannot create directory" log for the ReadyNAS config files.

Why? How to Fix?

This is a problem on the destination - most likely a file permissions or network access problem.

      Can you elaborate, please?

These are the only files that fail on the backup jobs. Succesful connection tests before & after backup jobs.

The NAS is saying it's not allowed to create a destination folder on the remote device.

Possibilities in the backup job setting include

        • path name typed incorrectly in the backup destination
        • account credentials typed incorrectly for the backup destination
        • perhaps wrong destination device name or IP address

Possibilities on the remote device are

        • backup share doesn't give the NAS write access in the network settings
        • backup share folder doesn't give the NAS write access

Note there are two settings on the remote device that both need to allow the NAS write access - the network settings and the folder permissions.
