Balancing does not help with "no space left" despite there is capacity available.
I've run into the issue with ReadyNas 4220. Firmware 6.4.2 There were a lot of posts in community for "no space left" error but none worked for me. # echo Test > /home/admin/test -bash: /home/ad...

We've not specifically determined space allocated for metdata. Partitioning was mainly default while initial NAS setup.
Though there was RAID5 option used.
I checked what was the output of btrfs fi df /prod once the issue raised:
Data, single: total=4.88TiB, used=4.71TiB
System, DUP: total=64.00MiB, used=800.00KiB
Metadata, DUP: total=421.00GiB, used=2.45GiB
GlobalReserve, single: total=512.00MiB, used=0.00B
After more balancing attempts it reported:
Data, single: total=4.17TiB, used=4.04TiB
System, DUP: total=32.00MiB, used=864.00KiB
Metadata, DUP: total=729.00GiB, used=2.42GiB
GlobalReserve, single: total=512.00MiB, used=224.00KiB
Yesterday I've released data space to 62% and balancing now is in progres but metadata usage was increased again
Data, single: total=3.16TiB, used=3.13TiB
System, DUP: total=32.00MiB, used=832.00KiB
Metadata, DUP: total=915.00GiB, used=2.13GiB
GlobalReserve, single: total=512.00MiB, used=0.00B
Is it possible to figure out why it raises and limit the quota?
Thanks.
