Download backups does not work since firmware 6.4.0

I have a backup job that downloads files via FTP. It worked just fine until firmware 6.4.0

Now the backup job starts and after a while it stops with an error message:

 

Backup Start Time: Sat Oct 24 2015 0:05:09
Backup Finish Time: Sat Oct 24 2015 0:49:18
Backup Status: Fail: connection cannot be established. Check the connection and authentication, if required.

 

The FTP server is working properly - I checked this several times.

Backup job works for about half an hour and then stops.

 

My device is ReadyNAS 312

 

Could you please suggest a solution?

  • I have the exact same backup issue and the same error message.

     

    I have additional problems as well that you may have and not have noticed.

     

    The connection to the NAS drive drops out and my network can see the device but can no longer access it. If I force power down the device and turn back on it comes back to life for a few minutes and I can access the NAS, admin page, data and even set the FTP backup running but then it drops the connection again and I cant even access the admin page.

     

    This is all because of the 6.4.0 update as it runs the backup every day and only started with these issues the day after the update.
