NTFS Format for USB backup disk?
About to do a full backup of my Pro 6 to a new 5GB USB disk and had a question about formatting:
Out of the box, the disk is formatted NTFS. FrontView sees it, and gives me the option to format FAT32, EXT3, or EXT4.
My previous USB backups are formatted EXT4, same as the ReadyNAS. But EXT4 is a PITA when I need to read the backup from a Mac or PC. It wold be much easier to go with NTFS or FAT32.
My preference would be to keep with NTFS to avoid FAT32 file size limitations. I intend to use FrontView to copy the entire C volume to the USB. Will FrontView backup work with NTFS?

Re: NTFS Format for USB backup disk?
It will work with NTFS, however not as well as it would with EXT4.

Thank you. By "not as well" do you mean slower or more chance of errors?

EXT4 backups are faster and more efficient.
If there are errors they should be logged.

Re: NTFS Format for USB backup disk?
OK, guess I'll go with EXT4 as before. Thanks!
