RN214 code 13002010001 - can't set password.
Similar to a previous (closed) topic, the wizard has me stuck at entering a password. Doesn't matter whether simple or complex per the suggestion, same same.
Background.
Unit has been in service for ~ 3 years with no issues.
This problem arose after I disconnected it to clear out dust at the bottom of the drive compartment. When reconnected to power it acted like a factory reset had taken place and it had a new IP address (previous static, now DHCP).
Logged in using default credentials, changed IP back to former static address, then went to fight the wizard on the original IP -> Password problem as above.
Suggestions?

Try an OS reinstall from the boot menu, which will
- reset the password back to password
- reset the IP to DHCP
Can you reserve the IP in your router? In general that is a better approach.
The login problem has somehow been averted. Just using the IP as browser link (rather than 192.168.1.60/login/) gets me back to the previous login credential panel - and previous creds work - so life is good again on that front. Don't understand how it got its knickers in a twist, but I guess it doesn't matter now.
Don't think the current router supports IP reservation. I've always used static (in the non-DHCP range of course!) for printers and any other fixed cabled peripherals, and it works for me.
Already running FW 6.10.8 and can't see any benefit of "upgrading" to 6.10.10. I'm always leery about doing unnecessary FW updating as a risk-for-no-benefit scenario.

6.10.9 has a security fix - I didn't track down the CVE, but I am running it on several NAS (including an RN202). I do suggest taking that one.
6.10.10 is a mixed bag. It removes the ReadyCloud client, which does reduce the security attack surface. But it also removes the ability to upload deb files on the app page. There is a workaround - one poster discovered they could upload any deb using the firmware update control. And you can use ssh of course.
If you do use apt (or apps) you should also apply the config changes in post 37 here:
They are needed with all OS-6 firmware.

Most do, but sometimes it's hard to find. What you are doing is safe enough, but you do need to be careful to keep the same subnet and DHCP range configured when you switch routers. I like the convenience of managing all the addresses from one spot, so I go with with address reservation myself.
