ReadyNAS 314 upgrade NIC card to 10Gbe?
I tried searching the forums and didn't find anything regarding this specific model. Can I upgrade the NIC card to 10Gbe? Yes, I know this would void warranty.
I went into the logs and downloaded boot_info.log file and I didn't see anything regarding a 0 or 1 for 10Gbe.
Thanks!

Re: ReadyNAS 314 upgrade NIC card to 10Gbe?
The boot info.log was using a flag in the EEPROM data to determine which model has 10 GbE. We handle this differently with the newer models.
I don't think upgrading to using a 10GbE card would be possible.
The RN716X has two 10GBase-T ports.

It's too much for me too. At this stage 10GbE on a NAS is very much at a price point where unless you have a business use for it it's not yet affordable.

Re: ReadyNAS 314 upgrade NIC card to 10Gbe?
I just found out about NIC teaming tonight! I'm going to go this route and install a dual-NIC in my desktop computer. On my ReadyNAS 314, what option should I choose for the bonding? After reading through the differences, I was going to go with either Adaptive Load Balancing or Transmit Load Balancing (but I wasn't sure on the processing power that Netgear warns about.) Thoughts?

I'd go with LACP if the switch supports it.

IEEE 802.3ad LACP? Yup, it has it!
Any idea how to setup NIC Teaming on Windows 8 now?
EDIT: I think I found my answer. I just picked up this card off Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Intel-1000-Dual-Server-Adapter/dp/B000BMZHX2) and found this article: http://nearlydeaf.com/?p=1176 to do NIC Teaming.
