ReadyNAS NV+ Performance Read/Write
Hi All,
i have a ReadyNAS NV+ (RND4000) with 4 x 2TB Drives.
this is a brilliant machine, it still running on standard 256mb memory
I can't fault it on streaming speed, it streams a 25gb bluray rip onto the htpc with no issues
Just want to know that people that upgraded to 1gb, noticed increase read/write speeds?
its average is 15mb/s with mixed files, large single files it can peak to 20mb/s and sometimes 25mb/s
has anyone got better numbers with 1GB upgrade?
Thanks

Re: ReadyNAS NV+ Performance Read/Write
Upgrading the RAM to 1GB may result in a small improvement to performance: http://www.readynas.com/kb/faq/performance/will_increasing_the_amount_of_memory_in_the_readynas_impr...)
However 3rd party memory modules are not supported. Using an incompatible memory module may cause data corruption. NetGear cannot help with recovering data lost to such corruption.
Memory manufacturers have updated their modules rendering them incompatible but keeping the same module number. Such bad practice means that NetGear can no longer maintain a memory compatibility list.
