Rsync from Win 7 Share to ReadyNAS
Hi,
Looking for some help from the experts here. I've been doing some reading, and already answered a lot of my own questions, but hit a bit of a wall.
What I'm trying to do: Backup from a regular Win 7 share onto the NAS, with incremental adds, deletes, renames.
What I've got so far: I can connect to the remote share, and was able to set up successful shares using Remote/Timestamp and Remote/Archive Bit.
Problem: It sounds like the method above doesn't use the Rsync protocol. New files make it across in incrementals, but Deletes and renames aren't recognized.
My Win 7 box doesn't have an rsync service installed. Ideally I'd like to avoid putting any software on the Win 7 box. Is there any way to do that? Or is my only way to get proper incrementals on the NAS to have some sort of rsync service on the Win 7 box itself?
Thanks!

Thanks for that... I was trying to see if I could do it without software at all, but I will look at DeltaCopy.- For anyone finding this thread from Google - I never was able to get the above working with DeltaCopy.
However, I was able to get everything working with Cwrsync. Unfortunately, the config for Cwrsync is all via text files, but if you can get through that, it works beautifully.
ReadyNAS now pulls the files off of my Win PC, and the only thing that's running is a VERY lightweight rsync service that Cwrsync installs.
